A- Z Music Therapy Services was developed by Stefanie Anderson Eckert, MM, MT-BC to provide music therapy services to
San Antonio and South Central Texas.  Stefanie's vision is to help individuals with disabilities to build and rebuild  skills through
the use of musical interventions.  Music provides a non-threatening environment opening a line of communication that other
environments prohibit.

The mission of A-Z Music Therapy is to provide music therapy services to all individual who want or need the service while
educating the client, caregiver, and community on the benefits of Music Therapy.

A-Z Music Therapy was established in May 2004.  The company continues to grow in size and populations served. Music
Therapy services are provided to a variety of clientelle including Private schools for children with Autism, private clientelle with
a variety of disabilities, public school settings, children undergoing intensive medical procedures including, but not limited to
organ transplants and kidney dialysis, work with older adults in Assisted Living Facilities, and much more.  

The treatment goals for individuals receiving Music Therapy Services varies by population.  Goals include, but are not limited to
academic skills,  social skills, activities of daily living, leisure skills, language skills, speech skills, fine and gross motor skills,
interpersonal skills, and body awareness.


                         About the Founder:

Stefanie Anderson Eckert, MM, MT-BC, the founder of A-Z Music Therapy Services, received her Bachelors Degree in Music
Therapy from The Florida State University in 1998 and her Masters Degree in Music and Human Learning from The University
of Texas at Austin in 2004.  Stefanie has been practicing Music Therapy full time since graduating from Florida State in 1998 in
a wide variety of settings including Public Schools, Child and Adolescent Psychiatric, Rehabilitation hospitals, and Private
Practice. Stefanie has focused the majority of her education and career working with individuals with developmental disabilities.  
It is her goal and mission that parents and students receive the best education possible, by advocating for appropriate services
for the students, including music and music therapy.
